Citrus Hot Toddy | Healthy Holiday Treats

I discovered this recipe this Winter and my goodness! it tastes absolutely gorgeous and it absolutely warms the soul. This recipe is a little bit different from the usual Hot Toddy's as it does not have any alcohol in it and it's a little healthier than the usual. 


Ingredients:

  • Whisky Toddy spices 
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Black tea (i used earl grey! yum!) 
  • Large organic orange 
  • Cloves 
  • 1 liter boiled water
  • Brown sugar or sweetener 

How to: 

  1.  Put 2 to 3 tea bags in a measuring jug and pour the boiling water in to a liter. 
  2.  Put the brew in a pot, at medium heat. 
  3.  Add in the whisky toddy spices. 
  4.  Add in the cloves and sugar/sweetener to taste
  5.  Leave to brew whilst you cut the oranges into circular slices.
  6.  Add in the orange slices and leave the pot to brew with a cover on for 15 to 20 minutes.
  7.  Once it has brewed (You will smell it! mmm) take the orange slices from the pot and put them in your cup along with a cinnamon stick. 
  8. Use a ladle to pour the drink in, using a sieve to filter any cloves/orange bits and you're done! enjoy!
